Massive Liking, Unliking and Commenting on Facebook

Do you want to show how much you like someone? Then why don’t you like all the things likable on his or her profile? Maybe you can also put a little comment on items which are commentable as well

But, in order to do the above, you normally should arm yourself with a good dosage of patience and be ready to lose some precious time by click on each individual item that you want to like or comment.

The Massive Liking-Unliking-Commenting (MLUC) script can avoid you this hassle! MLUC is simply a piece of JavaScript code that you can install on Greasemonkey. Three buttons will be added to your browser window whenever you are on Facebook

What you need:

Firefox Browser (tested on Firefox, but can work on other Mozilla-browsers)

The Greasemoney Add-on (download & Install from: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/greasemonkey/)

Click on ‘Add to Firefox’

If you see the message below at the top of your browser, click on ‘Allow’

After clicking on ‘Allow’ The window below will show you the installation’s progress. Wait for it to complete.

Now you need to download and install the MLUC script.

The MLUC script ( download & Install from: http://userscripts.org/scripts/source/97426.user.js ). The window below will appear. Click on ‘Install’.

After Installing MLUC, the message below will appear in a pop-up at the bottom of your browser’s window.

How to start Liking/Unliking/Commenting Massively on Facebook:

Go to www.facebook.com

If you have installed the Greasemonkey add-on and the MLUC script properly, You should see the Pink & Blue buttons on your page on the bottom-left as shown below:

Next, go to a friend’s profile.

Scroll down your friend’s wall, until you see the ‘Older Posts’ link :

Click on this link so that you get more items to like and comment. Repeat this step as many times as you want (maximising the number of liking and commenting that you will be able to perform.

Now, you are ready for action: Click on the Pink button labeled ‘M-Like’ to like massively & Click on the Pink button labeled ‘M-Comment’ to comment massively.

When clicking on ‘M-Comment’ , you will be prompted to enter a comment as show below:

Type in your comment and click on OK.

Now if you want to Unlike massively, I guess you know what to do

Water supply network leakage…a sabotage operation?

People are still being robbed, raped and slaughtered; Injustice still thrives and so, the only change being from a ’0′ to a ’1′. My dear people, greetingz and welcome to the year 2011

Our main issue in Mauritius currently is the dwindling water resources of our beloved island. It is indeed amazing how this situation has arisen; no…not because of the drought and no…the lack of rain is not the main culprit. If we dig deeper, we can start seeing a link between the Chagos (Diego Garcia) ~~crisis~~ situation and the local problems…Could it be a sabotage operation carried out by the much vaunted British special forces (SAS)? Maybe Wikileak’s Assange could have enlightened us but coincidentally, he seems to be under the care of the ‘British Empire’ right now…

Our water problems is not because the average Mauritian waste the precious liquid (ok, agreed some do waste it…but they are few and need to be punished harshly). Leakage?

Can be due to natural degradation of the pipes, accidental damages, crook individuals stealing water by digging into the supply pipes or sabotage!

Yes!, The British have a good enough reason to teach Mauritius a lesson…we want Chagos back? So, maybe they want to show us that our island is so weak and vulnerable that they can cut off our water supply and in the long term drive us out completely (maybe ship us to Madagascar the same way they shipped Chagossians to Mauritius and the Seychelles. So, they could have easily sent a team to create create the leaks in the water supply networks; bribe some high level people (yes, we all know how corrupt some people are) and quietly enjoy the mauritian people suffer for their leader’s ‘gut’ to sue the brits. If after publishing this post I vanish in nature…or something bad happens to me, you will know who the culprits are

Time: 2010 coming to an end

Time, so precious yet so wasted. So, I thought, it was high time to write a new post and probably the last post of this year.

Firstly, some of you may have noticed a recent change in the blog’s title. However, our ideology remains unshaken, so does our strategy and ultimate goal. Those who know, they know and those who do not, they simply do not know!

2010 in brief:

Been working at UoM till March as Research Assistant
Enjoyed the lengthiest holiday since I became a student. April to end of July
Joined UoM as lecturer on the 2nd of August

And till date: Enjoying my job and ~~plotting~~ planning my next steps (It is indeed a really nice feeling to see your grand plan unfolding in front of veiled-eyes )

With that, I wish you all a very happy new year 2011 filled with loads of achievements and satisfaction.

And remember, it’s all about time my dearest most honorable and cooperative people

My Dream of Mauritius – As one people, as one nation, in peace , justice and liberty

You all dream…while sleeping (most of which you forget) and with opened eyes (I’m thinking of students here…with eyes wide-opened during lectures but drowned in their own dreamland).

And I dream too…during my ‘idle’ time while traveling home or to work. One of those wonderful dreams was about our motherland in the year 2020, less than 10 years from now; Where a new generation of educated Mauritians will drive the country and make our national anthem a reality.

Be honest, don’t you feel the hypocrisy behind those sweet words of our national anthem?

“As one people, as one nation, in peace, justice and liberty” Really? At the moment, this is so untrue! Peace? Justice? Liberty? And please, forget about trying to compare Mauritius with countries in worse situations than ours (like most people trying to portray Mauritius as a paradise island will do)!

We need to change things, we need to improve things…We can and we should! Merely complaining about how things are deteriorating is not enough. Each one of us should bring a positive change to ourselves, our families, friends, communities and finally to the whole country.

Let us turn the words of our national anthem into words of truth!

After three weeks of lecturing at the University of Mauritius

It is now three weeks that I’ve been lecturing at UoM and nearly one month since I joined the university as lecturer. My feeling about it: It is a great job and I am really enjoying it!

I must admit though; being a lecturer is quite different from the idea I had about the job while being a university student. Most of us tend to think that the main task consist of delivering lectures. But in my case, it is quite different…lectures are just the end-product while the preparation for the lectures is currently my main activity.

Of course there are other tasks such the supervision of project students (and in my case, as new academic, I have to attend research seminars almost weekly; These are basically researchers presenting their works).

The part that is the most rewarding and enjoyable is that you get the opportunity to learn and share knowledge with others. It makes you feel that you are contributing towards the making of a better Mauritius and a better world.

The only thing that turns me off : I cannot dress casually (or can I ?)

Anyways, I still like the job very much and it’s one of my many ‘not-so-crazy’ dreams come true (some of my university classmates will recall my promises when I used to lose marks in tests unfairly). I am also trying my best to make the improvements that I wished for when I was a student.

Well this is it for now. I will talk about the modules I’m servicing next time. Until then, have fun :p

Research at UoM

Greetingz everyone! For those wondering about the rather dormant blog… well it’s not dead! (Oh yeah, I’m still alive :p ) I’m currently enjoying well-deserved holidays at home in Mauritius.

I have been working as Research Assistant for six months (october 2009 – March 2010) at the University of Mauritius on a project about tracking assets using RFID with Mr K. Khedo as Principal Investigator and we authored two research papers; One of which has already been published in the International Journal Of UbiComp (IJU) while the other was presented during the Research Week at UoM in February 2010 and under review for publication in UoM Research Journal.

It was a very enriching experience to work as research assistant and I strongly encourage all those students and fresh graduates who enjoy doing research to look forward for such opportunities. The best starting point for final year students will probably be about choosing interesting research-oriented final year projects and aim at publishing at least one research paper (Nobody told me about it…and I didn’t do it. So now that I am telling you, I hope it’s not too late for you guyz). Want to increase your chances of obtaining >70% in your project? Simply ensure that you have publishable material in it and the ‘A’ will coming running after you! As for fresh graduates, look out for the Vacation Research Scholarship Schemes and also discuss possible research projects with Academics at the university. Having publications are extremely useful and advantageous for those intending to compete for postgraduate research studentships / scholarships / funding for research degrees such as PhDs.

Have you heard the privacy outcries about social networking sites such as facebook and recently about Google’s Buzz? These issues concern the original Web’s younger cousin, Web 2.0 baptised by O’Reilly (Whether he is the only father…or they co-fathered somehow, the Tims know better). Web 2.0′s main contribution was about (not the AJAX fancy effects…) User Generated Content whereby the traditional functioning of the Web, with some information publishers and most users being the consumers, was revolutionarised. With Web 2.0, which some people like to call the “Social Web”, any user can produce information and share it with others through sites such as social networking, blogging and even news. Such freedom can be seen as equivalent to allowing people to keep knives in their kitchens. Of course, knives are very useful and we need them. But the very same knives can hurt you if wrongly used; you can even kill with them! So basically this is my answer to those concerned with their privacy: Your personal information and private life are your knives; the Web your kitchen; know how to use them and everything will be alright

Cyclone Gelane predicted to be nearest to Mauritius on Sunday

According to meteo france, cyclone Gelane will be nearest to our island mid-day on sunday 21st. Unfortunately it has also been predicted that it will become so weak then it will not be worthy of its name anymore. x-Gelane will be in between Mauritius and Rodrigues and at most we will be having some more rain.

That said, our people are working hard at this very moment to strengthen Gelane and enhance its energy usage efficiency. They are also working on different methologies for providing guidance to the cyclone both in terms of direction and speed so that we can score an indirect hit in the early hours of monday morning. People in areas recently affected by floods are advised to make necessary drainage holes through walls in areas they had water accumulation problems.

[update 1. 18/02/2010 19:47 Mauritian Time] Meteo France has updated its prediction this afternoon at 16:00 and has thus plotted Cyclone Gelane closer the the path that we predicted instead. And a good news, the cyclone has intensified and his now scheduled to reach Mauritius on Sunday late afternoon.

[update 2. 20/02/2010 06:45 Mauritian Time] Recent observation at 4am this morning shows that cyclone Gelane is now adjusting its direction to achieve a direct hit on Mauritius. But Meteo France still wants to believe that it will travel at a safe distance away from the island.

[update 3 22/02/2010 12:30 Mauritian Time] As most of us know by now, Gelane has been weakened so much that it lost the “cyclone” title. But still, there is hope, Gelane is making one more attempt to come towards us. Let us pray that it can gather some strength for this probably last shot… See the courageous Gelane fighting its way in the picture below.

Long time, no post. So what could be a better day than today, the first day of this month and of this year. We are now in the year 2010, good morning my honorable people!

Like all previous years, 2009 brought a lot of changes to us; Some were good, which we enjoyed while others were bad, which we learnt from. It was indeed a challenging year which I would not have been able to emerge from, that well without the help and support from many amongst you. Like always, help often came from the ones I least expected or did not and for some, still do not know and probably never will know. Let’s just say: You are my angels!

2009 was a year of great loss in terms of friendship. Probably because the previous years experienced a huge flux of new people, most of whom were accepted by default as ‘friends’. So the bulk of friends started to unload once there was nothing on offer. For the few that remained, misunderstandings were quick to settle in and at times voluntarily caused by third parties. Any plans to stop this loss? NO! leaving things as they are is the best way to find the crème de la crème in terms of friends and trust me, they do exist!

As for major plans for 2010, there is nothing much really except one: my PhD. I have already started to draft a research proposal and expect to finalise it by March this year and start applying to universities. If all goes well, by the end of 2013, god willing, I shall be having Dr. in front of my name.

So this is it for my first blog entry of the year. I wish you all great things and enjoy

Let’s get rid of HIV: The presidential way!

Greetingz. The World AIDS day was on 1st of December, and I had twittered this: “I request on this #WorldAIDSday that all those infected with HIV voluntarily ask to be castrated and exiled to an isolated land forever.” as my status.

That statement yielded very negative reactions from some people but when these very people were asked to provide a better alternative…they shared none.

Basically my idea is this:

We impose mandatory medical test to identify all those infected with HIV.

We make sure they can no longer have children

Send them to an isolated place with food being air-dropped

Within at most 100 years, all the HIV+ people would have died, effectively taking away the virus with them.

The challenges:
Some people are very sensitive and prefer that we all live with the risk of catching the virus rather than taking drastic measures as listed above. They will prefer that we keep spending loads of money in HIV-related medical research (yielding nothing much so far) when this money could have saved lives in many other ways and improve our quality of life.

The origin of the HIV virus is still a mystery…Does it really come from those chimps? If yes, we need to eradicate all those infected as well. If it did come from some labs as some rumors claim, those resposible should be taken care of.

Of course, this is in no way close to a research paper…so no referencing and statistical data yet. But a good review and analysis about why my proposed idea will or will not work will be a really nice piece of litterature. Any volunteer?
