Freemanic Paracusia (XKCD)
by ShahWow! Today’s XKCD comic is kinda weird.

Img Title: It’s amazing what it does for YouTube comments.
Quoting from The Neurological Side of Neuropsychology:
The term paracusia refers to an alteration of volume, timbre, or some other distortion of sound. This may be both unpleasant and persistent. Unlike tinnitus and other auditory perceptions caused by end-organ disease, paracusiae are cerebral in origin. This is analogous to the distinction between entopic and cerebrally based visual hallucinations. Auditory hallucinations may be elementary or complex, ranging from humming and buzzing to music, voices, and radio programs. Their cause is not limited to the temporal lobe, however. Ipsilateral musical hallucinations, for example, also result from lesions to the pontine tegmentum. That such brainstem hallucinogens usually occur in the context of hearing loss suggests that they may be an instance of release hallucinations, as previously discussed.
Linking Morgan Freeman to paracusia is too weird but definitely wacko. I was encoding Alpinekat’s Large Hardron Rap to set as ring tone on my hand phone, when having my dose of XKCD. Large Hardron Rap is related to the comic for it features the robotic Stephen Hawking-like voice. Now, replace it with Morgan Freeman’s.
I so want a Freemanic Text to Speech App. I found one! Yay! Well, FestVox will have to be used alongside FreeTTS. Check it out. Time to import Morgan Freeman’s voice! Ha ha! @ least, I’ll listen to youtube comments with FreeTTS (I usually don’t read youtube comments.)

Anyway, if you’re suffering from Paracusia, ask your doctor for advice. If you’re hearing Morgan Freeman, well, I guess it’s a blessing for his voice is soothing to the ears..or mind.
