‘Oldest’ blogger dies, aged 108 - RIP Olive Riley :(

Our dear friend Olive Riley passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 12. She will be mourned by thousands of Internet friends and hundreds of descendants and other relatives.
POSTSCRIPT. Mike has just told me that many people are having trouble accessing Olive’s blog. Let’s hope it’s only a temporary glitch. He sends his thanks to all the bloggers who have sent message of condolence through this temporary blog.
Mike says he will approve and post all messages so far sent to him, as soon as possible. Keep trying to access the site, but the problem may take a day or two to fix. So please be patient!

Olive Riley began blogging in February 2007 after a friend suggested the idea and offered to type up the posts on her behalf.
Her blog, The Life of Riley, became an international hit, with readers logging on from the United States to Russia to hear stories about her life.
Mrs Riley’ tales of surviving two world wars and the Depression, bringing up three children on her own and working as a cook in the Australian outback and a barmaid in Sydney, were also nominated for a Blogger’s Choice award in 2007.
Rest in peace, after a long and exciting life, well-lived. My condolences to her family and friends. Olive lives on, through our blog posts.
