Geoquake 2D Driving Simulator on Google Maps, My Meds, & Protocol Buffers

Geoquake 2D Driving Simulator on Google Maps is a brilliant small game which provides a top down view vehicle simulator and it uses the Google Maps API for Flash.

Have fun playing around Tokyo Station or The Googleplex. Driving is done by the keyboard keys. You can select the type of automobile as well the map. Zooming in and out are also features present.

Sure, it does have some perks - like you can drive over trees, building, other cars - there’s no boundary. But it’s brilliant ‘coz it sparkles ideas about AI and real time modelling - from games to remote controlling your vehicle/robot in the future. Do check it out.

So, it’s 22:20 here and I’m suffering from backpain, and arm and hand ache. This is due to bad posture and the fact that I spend the night Selene on my lap (Selene is my notebook. She’s not a girl wlol) without twitching and moving. All these coupled with the fact that I skip lunches amongst lead to RSI issues.

vitacalvoltarenTo stop the problem, I’ve found a remedy - having intakes of calcium twice per week. It costs me Rs. 18 per pack - Vitacal. I just dilute it in water and intake the liquid. Calcium strengthens the bones and compensates for its lack of intake through food. As far as my hands and arm go, I apply voltaren gel. The pain fades rather quickly. Before you wonder if I do exercise - YES, I do but only in summer WLOL. It’s too cold to run around and play footie. Exercising leads to more bone issues.

Anyway folks - don’t be as reckless as yours truly, me. Take good care of yourselves.

google codeWhat else? Since this morning, I had learnt that Protocol Buffers has been released and open sourced by Google.

Protocol buffers are a flexible, efficient, automated mechanism for serializing structured data – think XML, but smaller, faster, and simpler. You define how you want your data to be structured once, then you can use special generated source code to easily write and read your structured data to and from a variety of data streams and using a variety of languages. You can even update your data structure without breaking deployed programs that are compiled against the “old” format.

I could use it for dealing with MMS sending and receiving through a gateway. The important thing to note aside from the fact that it is faster and smaller than XML - once the message object has been created, its state cannot be changed, as if it was a Java string. I need to test it and see how this will affect my the applications I create. It will ease things though for a .proto file can generate a request and allow access to the message object in my request.

Oh, Protocol Buffer is not just available for Java. Check this out.

So, it’s 22:25 and I’m currently youtubing. WLOL. I’m watching the following (Awww @ Billie Piper):

Have a good night )
