Site thumbnailing made easy
by HansWhenever you get on those directory of blogs website, you are often asked a thumbnail of your blog. Some like Technorati can fetch this automatically for you while most don’t. SnapCasa, a simple site, provides you with real-time snapshot of your site in various image sizes, meaning that whenever you update your site, the thumbnail updates too. For this to work, you are to register for free with them and to add your blog’s domain to your account. Then you’ll be provided with the code in the image tag’s form i.e like that
<img src="http://SnapCasa.com/Get.aspx?code=[code]&size=[size]&url=[url]" />
to be placed on your site where a thumbnail will be needed. Needless to say, I don’t find much use to this on one’s blog.
But what kept my attention was the fact that without registering, you could instantly have thumbnails of any site for free. This could prove useful for reviews without the need to open any image editing software alongside. (more…)
